Sammy Saiki Director Writer Artist

‍ ‍Stories surrounding the messiness of womanhood, identity, and connection.

About Me

Hi!

My name is Sammy Saiki, and I am senior at NYU, where I study Media, Culture, and Communications. I spend most of my time creating character driven and often awkwardly funny stories that live somewhere between intimate realities and exaggerations. My work often pulls from my own experiences with mental health and identity, blending humor with actual emotions. I’m especially drawn to stories that center LGBTQ perspectives, intersectional feminism, and the tiny moments of connection that reveal who we are. As I continue writing and directing short films, I’m excited to grow my voice, explore more experimental approaches, and work within development spaces that champion fresh, honest storytelling.

Keep up with me here, where it’s heartfelt, it’s fun, and it’s basically my job application in disguise (but you already knew that..)

Sincerely,

Sammy “The Selectively Sharp” Saiki
